Welcome To The Revolution!
In the time leading to the revolution many things happened one of witch was the taxes. They were in forced by the British and were the cause of the sons of liberty the tea that was flung off British boats and the of 5 people in the walkways of Boston , the taxes included in the revolution were the Navigation Act the Sugar Act Stamp Act and the Townsend Act. Also these acts forced the american colonists to go into poverty lose valuable items and food. Now to contrast, first the colonists hated the taxes and were always revolting and making life hard for the British who, after all, sent the colonists and gave them life. So why should the colonists obey this is what the king thought and many agreed.
The Colonists Side:
The colonists were horribly mad at "those decorators" which by now you now were the British. Firstly the tea act, it was a daily thing for the colonists to drink tea but then king George the third decreed that the colonists could only buy British tea. This infuriated them so it resulted in the Boston tea party which caused a major loss for the East India company. One more thing to note is when the Boston massacre happened it resulted in many rally's against the British and was one of the main reasons we went to war with the British. Also there was one act that stated that the colonists had to let British soldiers into there house holds. This means that at any time random people can walk into there homes and take food and sleep there. |

The British Side: On the other hand the British thought that the taxes were perfectly reasonable and that the colonists should be grateful for Britain's support. Also king George sent all the needed supplies to the colonies. One event that made the British's minds harden was when colonists dressed as native americans and dumped many pounds of tea in opposition to the king. The king sent boxes of tea that the colonists would have to buy because of the Tea act. The king was furious at the colonists for wasting all the tea and dumping it into the harbor. |

First we realize the taxes affect on the colonists we all know that they were unfair and caused much sorrow in the lives of the colonists. In 24, 1774 the first tax was imposed on the colonists by the British. The Administration of Justice Act came next in line and was quickly followed by The Massachusetts Government Act which stated that they would restrict town meetings to one a year unless the governor agreed any more. The Massachusetts assembly could not meet. Also The Quebec Act was established May 20, 1774. It made the colonies give some of our land to Canada. There was also the Quartering Act which allowed soldiers to live in colonists home . The Impartial Administration of Justice Act was the last act ordered and it allowed British soldiers to do what ever they wanted. There was even more taxes like stamp acts, sugar acts, and the tea act there was even a tax on windows.

The taxes were important because they helped ease us into the war. One example of this is the Tea Act. The Tea act forced the colonists to only buy the British tea and forced colonists to do this or they could go to jail. Also the taxes were important because they allowed us to realize how King George ruled and let are founding fathers find a new way to rule. One example is all the taxes the king disposed on the colonists they included the sugar act the Quebec Act, and many more. Also they were a good reason to go to war. This is because if the king allowed such unfair things to happen to his colonists then we have ample reason to break free of his rein. Every American should no why the taxes were important and in my opinion the world should. I think the British taxes were also important for the colonists because they were one of the main reasons we went to war and because we went to war we have freedom. The american revolution was a war for freedom it started April 19, 1775 and ended September 3, 1783. The sugar act is one example of the taxes that were enforced by the British. The British taxes were important for the British because it helped them maintain control over the colonies.
